May

May was a busy month!  I was traveling around with Mike and Kristen, and getting ready to head out to Hawaii.  Lloyd left for Hawaii right after Easter.  I stayed back to get some work finished and to do a few weddings.

Addie (my niece) at the hospital right after surgery.  Her hips did not develop correctly so surgery was needed.  She is such a trooper!

In the past the Anderson Clan would get together once a month to have family night at Grandma Hazels.  The family has grown immensely since we were little.  I want to say there are almost 300 of us in the Sherrill and Hazel Anderson Family now.  A lot of us wanted to start it up again, so we decided to have it over west at the Homestead.  My Mom made the arrangements so that Kristen and Mike could be there to be a part of things.  Once again the weather was terrible,  it was rainy and windy.  We were so glad that everyone was willing to brave the weather.

My Dad made a make shift table from the a board and the back of his truck to a barrel.  everyone brought pot luck to eat.  We had a camp fire to keep warm.

The Homestead

We had Uncle Lowell come and tell us about the homestead and some of his memories.  My dad set up the sound system and also shared some memories about the crank tractor.

Everyone huddling around the fire to keep warm.

Mom and her singing group "Time out"  Eileen Cox is their director.  They sounded wonderful.  This was there last show before summer break.

Lloyd is so sweet!  He sent me flowers for Mothers Day.  He ordered them online and they contracted Farmers Floral in Mt. Pleasant to arrange and deliver them to me... now for the story...
It was the Saturday before Mothers Day.  The day was winding down.  Lloyd called from Hawaii to say goodnight.  He acted a little weird but I didn't think anything of it.  He usually sends me flowers on this day so I was wondering if he forgot (I wasn't expecting anything) We had all been gone working on Grandma Hazels yard that day so maybe we missed them???  The next day was Mothers Day.  Still nothing.  Lloyd called that afternoon and didn't even say Happy Mothers Day.  I was sure he remembered.  The day came to a close.  Finally I said aren't you going to wish me a Happy Mothers Day?  He said he was waiting for me to thank him for the flowers... What flowers??? They never got delivered :(
I was super sad because I thought Lloyd had forgot and my whole day was just a regular day...  Lloyd made some phone calls the next day to see what happened.  Around 2:00 pm Monday Farmers showed up with a gorgeous bouquet.  I had my Mom answer the door because I was so mad that they didn't deliver them on Saturday like they were supposed to.  They said that they couldn't find our address.  They had some kid doing some of the deliveries and the GPS took him to the rodeo grounds.  He just left them at the store undelivered...  Kids these days!
I finally got them and enjoyed them!  Thanks Lloyd you are so thoughtful!  The card read Thanks for being the most amazing wife and mother! Love Lloyd!  It was worth all the drama.

I took Kristen and Mike and the kids up to lewiston the visit Grandma LaRue.  They wanted to visit her before heading back to Korea.  While we were there I took a bunch of pictures of them.  These are some of my favorites.

Jacey fell asleep in grandmas arms while we were packing up the car to go.

The Stevenson Family

Before Kristen and Mike left we went to Angela's for one last get together with all their friends.  I left to go buy a blond wig (that story to come later) while they went inside to play games and eat.  I arrived back a few hours later.  I got out of the car my door shut.  I went around to get Jacey out and the door was locked.  I did NOT lock it.  so I tried my door... also locked!  What in the HECK!  I frantically tried all the doors.  They were all locked.  I have no idea how it happened.  The Keys were also in the car.  I sheepishly walked into angels house (with my blond wig on) and announced to the group that I had locked Jacey in the car.  Luckily it wasn't hot outside, but I was still worried.  Tyler informed me that if a child is locked in the car the cops will come and unlock it for free... We called the cops... an officer showed up about 5 mins later.  Next a fire truck showed up and few more cop cars.  I had no idea it would take so many people.  we were the neighborhood spectacles.. and it didn't help that I had a blond wig on.  Ha ha ha crack your jokes now.  They got Jacey out in a jiffy.  I am always so carful now when getting out of the car so I don't accidentally lock it.

Four of the 6 fire fighters and officers that it took to get Jacey out of the car :)

One of the wigs I tried on that day.

Wig 3 and the winner.

Before Kristen left to go back to Korea I drove her up to Aunt Patsy's house.  She had to be to the air port at 4 am.  We arrived at Aunt Patsy's at 10pm.  She wanted her hair highlighted before she went home.  We had been so busy that this was the only chance we had to do it.  We stayed up until midnight or later talking and doing her hair.  Within the last few months I also sewed and did extensions for Ang, Kristen and Teri.  They all Looked beautiful.  I love doing hair!

The result still wet :)

It was so hard to say goodbye.  We miss her and the kidlets so much.  Yes I even miss Mike to believe it or not.  It was fun to have them here.  I missed having a close friend here all the time.  There is nothing better than a sisters bond! I can't wait until we are neighbors one day;)
After I dropped Kristen and the kids off at the airport I cried all the way back to Aunt Patsy's.  I parked the car were I always park on the side of the street.  I had a feeling that I should back up a bit, but didn't.  I then went back to bed.  I woke up about 6:30 am to someone pounding on the door.  I didn't live there so I naturally did not answer.  Uncle Fred Answered it and came and woke me up.  He said that someone had hit my car.
I jumped out of bed to go see what had happened.  It was a police officer that had knocked on the door.  The girl that hit my parked car was 16.  She had just got her license a month prior.  She called the cops.  Then They gave her a ticket and gave me her insurance info.  poor girl.  Her dad was not to happy.  He wanted to just pay for the damage out of pocket... I had to have a rental because we were out of town... and It was going to be about $2000 worth of damage.  He yelled at me over the phone... it was not my fault his daughter hit me!  I felt bad for her though.  I went through his insurance and everything got fixed quickly.  I was worried that it wouldn't be done in time for me to fly to Hawaii.  Everything worked out fine.

Kristen made this quilt for my parents for Christmas.  She did an awesome job.  It took a lot of time to make.  It turned out beautiful! It was from all of us kids.  We decided to do a room makeover for them.  We got new curtains, a bookshelf, made a headboard, painted and got new lamp shades, redid their dresser, picture frames, a bed skirt, a mirror, a shelf for above their bed, and nick nacs for the shelves.

We mod-podged the shelf above their bed with ripped up brown paper sacks.  It turned out great.  I wish I had a close up to show how it turned out.

Before I left for Hawaii my Mom drove me up to Aunt Patsy's to spend the night.  We had a girls night and got out nails done and more.  We had a lot of fun.

Jacey had fun to :)

We got shellac done on our nails.  I like it way better than acrylic nails.  Wish Bexi had been here to do them for us.

I went and got a spray tan as well so I could be tan for Hawaii.  We then went out to dinner at Olive Garden.  We had a good time.

Nate, Patsy, and Paula

Teri and I. (after the spray tan) I looked scary. ha ha
